Although
an early pioneer of internet fiction, the author writing under the
pseudonym "S. Leigh Farmer" was not at all comfortable with the
intricacies of electronic document tools nor electronic
communication. For many years, Farmer's more daring work was
created in longhand or on a typewriter. Too risque for mainstream
press and even beyond the limits accepted by most of the fringe
publishers, Farmer's stories languished in relative obscurity. In the
early 1990's, friends and associates aware of the unique talent, helped
Farmer transcribe the printed fiction into electronic form allowing the
stories find an audience through what was becoming the World-Wide Web
just as the internet phenomenon was catching on. The 'anything
goes' spirit of internet erotica led the world to discover Farmer's
unique talent for blending explicit sexual content with believable
characters and fascinating plots. The stories stood in stark
contrast to the standard fare of adolescent fantasies, extreme fetishes
and violent storylines that were the bulk of internet erotica those
days. Sadly, an unforeseen convergence of events near the end of the twentieth century led to a sudden disconnect between the hardy band of supporters and the creative force behind those imaginative but titillating stories. There would prove to be no further fiction from Farmer. The cognescenti agreed to never divulge the identity or any details about the once reclusive - and now missing - author. As a tribute, the people that had been part of the inner circle started this organization in Farmer's honor. |
